These chicken skin crisps are delicious and are low in carbohydrates. I make these crisps as an appetizer before a family meal. I love the fact that nothing goes to waste. How to Make Chicken Skin Crisps

Chicken Skin Crisps – Ingredients

  • Chicken skin, cut into pieces
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

The key to the sauce ingredients is to avoid vegetable oils, soybean oils, and dyes. Believe it or not, some mustards have yellow dye in them! Make sure to get organic and to check the label!

Ingredients to Make a Sauce for Chicken Skin Crisps

Chicken Skin Crisps – Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise or sour cream (Mayo is recommended)
  • 2 teaspoons organic yellow mustard
  • ½ teaspoon liquid smoke
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons Primal Kitchen barbecue sauce
  • 1 teaspoon stevia

Chicken Skin Crisps – Process

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix together dry seasonings.
  3. Place chicken skins on a baking sheet. Rub seasonings onto each chicken skin.
  4. Cover chicken with additional parchment paper or tent with aluminum foil to prevent seasonings from burning.
  5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until crisp. Serve with dipping sauce. 

To prepare the dipping sauce:

  1. Whisk together all sauce ingredients until combined. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week
