So, when I arrived home, I put deviled eggs on my weekly menu. So easy to make and the variations are fun to put together. Below is a classic recipe but I have been known to add relish, bacon, and other goodness to the mix. See below for different deviled egg recipes.

Classic Deviled Eggs Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 dozen eggs, boiled, peeled, halved with yokes reserved
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons mayonnaise, depending on desired consistency
  • 2 tablespoons dill relish
  • ½ teaspoon celery salt
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon yellow mustard
  • Salt, to taste
  • Paprika to sprinkle on top

How to Make Deviled Eggs

  1. Boil eggs
  2. Peel eggs
  3. Cut eggs in half lengthwise
  4. Mash yokes into crumbles
  5. Add 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise and remaining ingredients to the egg yolks. Stir together and test for seasoning and consistency. Adjust seasonings and add more mayo if needed.
  6. Transfer yolk mixture into a piping bag fitted with a large open star tip.
  7. Press yolk mixture into egg white halves.
  8. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

  • Bring water to boil
  • Add a bit of salt (to increase the temperature of the water) and lemon juice (to aid in the peeling of the egg) to the water
  • Gently place eggs into boiling water
  • Boil for 10 minutes on medium heat
  • Prepare an ice bath to shock the eggs
  • Remove the eggs from the boiling water and place in a bowl of ice cold water
  • Gently crack on an edge and peel!
